Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ shopping malls in the UAE took home a total of seven prestigious awards for retail and marketing excellence at the recent 2012 Middle East & North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. Hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC), the awards are designed to recognise the shopping centre industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, as well as outstanding examples of design and development across the Middle East & North Africa region.
The ICSC honoured Mall of the Emirates with its highest honour - the ICSC Foundation Award for CSR for the ‘It’s a Woman’s World’ campaign, which celebrated the charitable achievements of inspirational women across the UAE. Two Gold Awards were given to both Deira City Centre for excellence in Social Media and Bahrain City Centre for the best Sales & Events Promotion for ‘Fall for Fashion’. Additionally, four Silver Awards were awarded to Fujairah City Centre for its Grand Opening launch campaign, Mall of the Emirates for excellence in Sales & Promotion for ‘World of Fashion’ event and two awards for Mirdif City Centre for Cause Marketing with its ‘Trashion Show’ and Sales & Promotion campaign ‘Monday’s Sobhiya’. All finalists were judged by an international panel of industry experts, ensuring industry ‘best practice’ recognition on a global level.
